Females hold up half the sky, Asia's Chairman Mao famously stated. But in China, the one-child policy and the original preference for men signify 117 men are created for virtually any 100 infant girls. This means there could be 24 million Chinese men unable to find wives by the end of the decade by one estimate.
As Asia's economy booms, the wedding market is actually exactly that: a market, with new demands by ladies for flats and automobiles.
But are females actually taking advantage of their scarcity?
